INTERIORS: Panasonic’s historic #High5Live event is a smashing success

How does Panasonic Avionics, the world’s leading in-flight entertainment and communications (IFEC) provider prove just how truly global their inflight broadband service has become? Three words: global inflight Tweetathon!

As promised, Panasonic unveiled the world’s first global in-flight Tweetathon at the AIX 2013 Show in Hamburg yesterday afternoon and, by any standard, it was hugely successful. Titled High5Live, the event featured passengers on six different airplanes Tweeting to their hearts content via Panasonic Avionics’ technology.

“One of the things that’s really important to us is to be able to kind of stand out from the crowd when it comes to demonstrating our service is global,” says Panasonic Avionics executive director, corporate sale and product management Neil James.

Twitter INTERIORS: Panasonics historic #High5Live event is a smashing success“So, one way of demonstrating [that] was to have passengers flying over the five different continents of the world on Panasonic-equipped aircraft…tweeting with our customers, tweeting with people on the ground, and even Tweeting with each other. A real-time global in-flight Tweetathon.”
