Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Adopted By American Airlines

Throughout 2012 we have seen an increase in the popularity of mobile phones which have large screens and the best example of this is the Samsung Galaxy Note. When the Galaxy Note was first launched it was thought that the large 5 inch screen may put consumers off however this was not the case and due to its success Samsung will be releasing a Galaxy Note 2 which is due to be launched this October. This new device has already acquired a large order from a major airline company.

Users that have been looking for a device that is more than just a smartphone have been drawn to this phone which has a very large display. It is this display which has attracted American Airlines. They intend to provide all of the cabin crew with a Samsung Galaxy Note handset and the pilots will receive an iPad tablet. As mobile phones are banned on flights the airline is not interested in the cellular feature of this device however they are very interested in the Wifi feature as the company hope to have WiFi fully featured on 91 percent of its flights before the end of the year.

As the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 bridges the gap between a mobile phone and a tablet device it has been affectionately named a “phablet”. The display is much larger than that found on other mobile phones which is the reason that the American Airlines cabin crew have opted for this device. The fact that this larger device can also be used one handed was another attraction. The new model will offer a 5.5 inch screen which is larger than that found on its predecessor and we can expect to see it launched in the next couple of weeks.

The Galaxy Note looks like it will be another successful model for Samsung who also have best sellers on the market in the shape of the Galaxy S2 and S3. American Airlines opting for this device illustrates perfectly the different type of consumer which this phone will attract.
