Chicago Tribune’s Greg Karp weighs in on the subject of the cost of Wi-Fi onboard airlines. In his story, he talks about how tech savvy consumers expect Wi-Fi every where they go nowadays. However, the roll-out by airlines has been slow and the adoption by passengers even slower. Pricing ranges from $5 – $13 and only 7% of passengers are logging on at 30,000 feet, but all that’s about to change… United opted for satellite based Wi-Fi from Panasonic Avionics. The airline will outfit it’s entire fleet by 2015.
